LG’s incredible wire

LG has finally announced a release date for its stunning M3 range of wireless tellies but they are nit exactly cheap.

If you’re fed up with seeing a mass of messy HDMI cables dangling behind your telly then you might want to watch out for LG’s new M3 screen which is arriving in UK stores soon. This latest gogglebox, which was first announced at the CES technology show back in January, features fully wireless technology which means set-top boxes, game consoles and other streaming devices can be neatly tucked away leaving just the screen sitting proudly in your living room.

This clutter-free set-up has been made possible thanks to the M3 being powered by a separate Zero Connect Box which wirelessly transmits content to the giant display.

All accessories plug into this external device rather than the telly itself meaning there’s no visible clutter under the telly.

LG says that its Zero Connect Box uses the latest wireless technology to transmit its signal so customers will get the same silky-smooth 120Hz 4K visuals they’d receive via wires.

It's a neat idea and will certainly appeal to anyone living in a plush minimalist apartment or posh pad with an interior design that doesn't want to be ruined by black wires everywhere.

To make sure users get the ultimate viewing experience, the M3 also gets the same stunning OLED panel that powers the award-winning G3 models so expect impressive colours, rich black and super high brightness. There's also LG's feature-packed user interface including offering fast access to hours of additional content, games and work apps.

It all sounds pretty clever but this new technology doesn’t come cheap.

The M3 wireless range starts from £5,999 for the 77-inch model. There’s also an 83-inch version which will set you back £7,999. However, if you want a cinema-style experience in your living room then you’re going to need to take out another mortgage with the 93-inch display priced at £27,999. No that’s not a typo!

LG says its M3 range will arrive before the end of the year so have a little time to start saving up.

“The technical feat of the 97M3 was made with LG’s decade-long commitment to creating new customer value as a market pioneer,” said Baik Seon-pill, leader of the LG Home Entertainment Company’s Product Development Division. “As well as delivering the ultimate viewing experience on an ultra-large screen, our first-of-its-kind wireless LG SIGNATURE OLED M presents customers with a new level of freedom in arranging their living spaces.”
